Community

Giving back is part of my DNA and being of service is at the heart of everything I do.

In 2013, I decided to celebrate her 30th birthday by starting The Purple Tie Affair (PTA). PTA is an annual benefit to help support my favorite nonprofits. Over the years E3 Radio has given over $6,000 to various organizations in the Chicagoland area. These organizations include Affinity Community Services, the Church within a Church Movement, Project Fierce, the Youth Empowerment Performance Project, Long Walk Home, and the Chicago Black Gay Mean’s Caucus. PTA is a standout event that community members look forward to every year.  It is special because we showcase musical artists, drag performers and one of kind silent auction items. Everyone arrives in purple representing their version of fly so we can party with a purpose.

In addition, I serve as Board President for Affinity Community Services. Affinity is a social justice organization serving the needs of the Black LGBTQ+ community with a particular focus on Black women. I’m also on the communications committee for the Church Within a Church movement (CWACM). CWACM is an expansive anti-oppression community honoring a diversity of spiritual, religious and philosophical truths and their fullest expressions.

Check out some of our PTA pictures over the years. We look forward to the next one coming soon.
